Saturday, March 19th Harnessing the brain: The future of cognitive neuroscience
Dr. Laura Cacciamani, Department of Psychology and Child Development, Cal Poly. Gone are the days of simply looking at brain activity using fMRIs. The latest research in the area of cognitive neuroscience seeks to understand the brain in new, advanced ways, such as through brain stimulation, neural mind reading, and even brain-computer interfaces. But what does this mean for the future? How can we harness what we know about the brain to improve lives? What about ethical considerations? This talk will explore the present and future of cognitive neuroscience and what to expect with new and improved brain 2.0.
